TrafficPaywall pay-per-crawl license

This page is the <standard> referenced by the RSL 1.0 license documents that sites in the TrafficPaywall network publish at /rsl/{siteKey}.xml.

Terms

  1. Automated access to covered content (crawling, scraping, AI training, retrieval and agentic browsing) requires a valid credential: a TrafficPaywall API key or a License token issued by the License Server named in the RSL document.
  2. Each request to a covered URL is charged the price stated in the site's RSL document, at most once per URL per site per UTC day. Requests answered with HTTP 402, 401 or 403 are not charged.
  3. Where the site's license also grants search usage with payment type="free", indexing for traditional search results is free.
  4. A paid request licenses the retrieved content for the licensee's own AI and data uses. It does not transfer copyright or permit republishing the content verbatim.
  5. Access without a valid credential is not licensed.
